Who
We Are
Mennonite Creation Care Network (MCCN) is a bi-national Christian
organization affiliated with the Mennonite
Church USA and the Mennonite
Church Canada. Our focus is the Mennonite “household”—especially
its congregations—but we welcome anyone who wishes to be part
of a faith-based network of people engaged in caring for creation. Click
the verbs to see the goals below in action.
MCCN encourages the Church to:
• Claim its
biblical and theological foundation for the care of God’s Creation.
• Discover the
ties that link all created beings to each other and to God.
• Confess the
harm we have caused the natural world and our neighbors.
• Act faithfully
to restore the earth.

General Secretary of Mennonite Church Canada Reports on United Nations Forum on Climate Change
Willard Metzger, the General Secretary of Mennonite Church Canada, attended the United Nations Forum on Climate Change in Durban, South Africa, November 28 to December 9. He reports on his experiences in his blog at http://willardmetzger.blogspot.com/
The blog describes heart-rending scenes between Canadian politicians and disillusioned youth calling for action; it mourns Canada’s decision to pull out of the Kyoto Protocol. Metzger calls each of us to re-evaluate our consumption and to speak forcefully to our politicians. “As politicians, they need a platform of unmistakable public opinion in order to provide the leadership we are requesting,” he says.

water on wheels to avoid using bottled water which is shipped
further and creates plastic waste.
